| everytime i go on wifi..error code 86420 pops up..i have perfect connection and brand new router..i checked support.nintendo.com......but it told me to turn off the firewall in my router HOW? | |

| Ok first off all do you have a DS or the DSI? What router do you have? I do need to know that first. | |

| do you have admin rights to the router? This is so you can change setting in the router.
If so you need to type in the IP address for the router it is probably this 192.168.1.1 it will ask for admin name and password leave the name blank and password type in Admin . then you need to go to Nintendo's page and look at what ports need to be open in port forwarding. Just so you know this is possible to mess the router up to where it needs to be reset. If you are still unsure call a tech support at nintendo and have them walk you through it. | |

(login with your router login name/password or leave blank.
Manually set up your wii
Pasted from the nintendo website.
# Locate the Port Forwarding settings in your router. If the router asks for an "Application" or "Service" name, you can assign it anything you wish, such as "Wii", "Wi-Fi", "Nintendo", etc.
* The starting port to open is 1, the ending port to open is 65535 (or as high as the router will allow).
* Protocols will need to be set to UDP only.
* Set the IP address for the ports to forward to the same IP address you assigned to the Wii.
* If there is a box to enable the settings, be sure it is checked. Apply the changes.
# Try enabling the "DMZ"* feature of the router and setting it to the Wii's IP address (see the instructions above on manually setting up the Wii's IP address).
